A recent survey by communication student Chantal Joeloemsing (Hogeschool InHolland) revealed that we are the best-known PR agency amongst journalists, both in prompted and unprompted responses. More than 200 journalists from a range of media including radio, TV, magazines and websites took part in the survey. Journalists know our agency particularly from press releases and business contacts.

To distinguish itself from its competitors, NH Hoteles started an ‘inhouse mood communication project’ in its 32 hotels. This project was introduced to the press in a surprising and creative manner. NH Hoteles has rented no less than 6 hectare of land to sow Europe’s biggest ever advertisement in a field of wheat along Schiphol Amsterdam Airport’s Kaagbaan landing strip. The result was shown to the press during a helicopter flight, which was followed by an explanation on the ‘inhouse mood communication project’. Linden & Barbosa has been invited to coordinate the invitation process. Trade magazines Communication and MarketingTribune are due to publish a number of interviews with spokespeople for NH Hoteles. The news will also be distributed via Novumnieuws and the results will be printed in daily newspaper Metro.

Famous Sesame Street residents Bert, Ernie and Elmo visited primary schools in Rotterdam and Amsterdam Zuidoost on the National Outdoor Play Day (Wednesday 13 June last). Linden & Barbosa advised Sesame Workshop (the company behind Sesame Street) to give the National Outdoor Play Day an extra boost by letting the characters from Sesame Street set the right example. The popular Sesame Street residents helped the youngest children and their parents cross the street and joined them in their favourite outdoor games. Linden & Barbosa was responsible for selecting the schools, the press invitation process and monitoring the event on the day itself. The visit of the Sesame Street residents featured on RTV Noord-Holland and in a number of (regional) daily newspapers.

Five couples spent one day living the live of a millionaire when they took part in a special promotion of Staatsloterij and Primera, enabling them to spend one day of luxury in Amsterdam. After a ride in a limousine taking them from their homes to Amsterdam, they were given € 2,000 to go shopping in the capital’s most expensive shopping street: the P.C. Hooftstraat. A large shopping bag, which carried the Dutch text “never waiting for sale again”, truly served its purpose. That evening the winners enjoyed a performance of the ‘My Fair Lady’ show from a private box at the Carré theatre and spent the night in a suite at the Amstel Hotel. To generate extra attention for this unique experience, Linden & Barbosa made sure both the national and local press could follow the winners. The Millionaire for a Day promotion featured on television in Hart van Nederland, in newspapers De Telegraaf, AD, and Metro, and on NCRV radio and RTV Rijnmond.
