Salsa, street dance, hip hop, flamenco, belly dancing and modern dance … since ‘Dancing with the Stars’, dancing is trendy and hip once again. Valerie Valentine’s DanceStreet Studio’s in Amsterdam’s city centre offer all the latest dance trends. When Valerie wanted to generate more publicity for her studios and dancing in general – after all, dancing makes people feel good! - she decided to ask Linden & Barbosa to put the spotlight on the Studios and to introduce journalists in the Netherlands to the trendiest dances and forms of exercise available today.
The first inspiration classes for journalists took place on 13 December and attracted journalists from publications including Metro, Stars and Nouveau.
After the inspiration classes in salsa, pilates, yoga and urban pop they relaxed with refreshments while asking Valerie Valentine all about ‘what’s hot and what’s not!’

On Wednesday afternoon, 14 December last, Linden & Barbosa organised a special showing of the Sony Pictures Home Entertainment ‘Stuart Little 3, call of the wild’ DVD at ‘The Movies’ cinema in Amsterdam. Invited to this unique event were not only the prize-winners of competitions published in door-to-door magazines and on websites, but also many journalists and business customers of Linden & Barbosa and their children.
Children and parents thoroughly enjoyed this first wide-screen showing of the follow-up in the Stuart series. The Dutch-language version included the voices of Tygo Gernandt, Brainpower and many others. Before the start of the film a life-size Stuart Little walked amongst the many young Stuart fans, much to their delight, and they all had their picture taken with the famous mouse. The fun afternoon ended with Stuart handing out sweets to enjoy on the way back.

Stegeman, part of Sara Lee Foods Europe, has introduced a new meats product range with the brand name Megafit. It is a range of healthy and tasty sandwich meats enriched with Omega 3, which helps improve consumers’ cardiovascular condition. Stegeman has asked Linden & Barbosa to bring Megafit to the attention of the press and consumers. Since meat products are not exactly an inspiring product, Linden & Barbosa planned to introduce this health concept in a fitting manner.
The meats were brought to the attention of journalists for a wide range of magazines and newspapers three times during a one-week period. It started with a teaser mailing which consisted of a set of cutlery and luxury napkins with the text “Let’s have a healthy lunch”. The press release that followed was sent by HTML. And many editor teams then received a luxury lunchbox with the napkin, cutlery and, of course, samples of the sandwich meats, to enable the editors themselves to “taste-test” the new products. It was an offensive that resulted in publications in magazines and newspapers including Het Financieele Dagblad, Food Press, De Levensmiddelenkrant and Eindhovens Dagblad. And we’re not there yet...
In the New Year, Allerhande will carry an advertorial and insert. In addition, L&B has set up a joint promotion with Maison de La France. Upon the purchase of the Megafit product, people qualify for winning a trip to France’s green heart. So make sure to give it a try...!
